$$$... broke.

i can remember so clearly the early days of visiting, touring, and meeting with my admissions advisor at FIDM. i was excited beyond measure. fidm felt like a dream come true. everyone was so nice, everything was so beautiful, and they really made me believe that i belonged here...

well, why were they so nice? why did they do everything in their power to get us to apply and come to this school? simple. you got the money, you get in. fidm runs on money... best believe it, honey. all new prospective students showing a slight bit of interest for FIDM are walking dollar signs $$$$$$ in the eyes of all fidm employees. ka-ching! y'all, they raise tuition EVERY year... if you ain't broke yet, you will be.

you better make your time there worth it!

So like any other really great college ISN'T going to cost you money??? OF COURSE THEY WILL!! Your education is going to cost you money regardless of where you decide to go. I think you shouldn't judge a school because of the money factor...FIDM does offer financial aid options that are awesome! I mean, when I applied last fall I applied for grants and scholarships at FIDM and other places online, and was able to get it together. Where there is a will, there is always a way!. I looked for the way and I am glad that I am here now! Don't let what people tell you ever color how you see things especially f you have a passion to get into fashion like I do! The school is VERY helpful because they really want to see you succeed and if they see you are willing to work hard that is a total plus! My sister graduated there a year ago and loans and all, was happy she made that decision! Today she is working at a major movie studio as a stylist! FIDM has a lot to offer and I see THAT in her! Despite financial need, she applied, succeeded and is now making it work!

All I can say is, FIDM is a wonderful school if you are planning on living in Cali or NY forever but if you are an out of state student just make sure you have a long term plan for staying in one of those states. $40,000 later I am living back home in Utah (was living with the g-parents in Cali and they moved my last semester.) wondering how I will ever make this degree worth it. Just being realistic. It was a good time but who knows how long it will take to pay off.
