Career Connections this year was on Wednesday, July 29th. It was a fantastic speed networking event for FIDM students and grads!

FIDM Shuttle

Got a night class? Take the FIDM shuttle! It drops you off right at the metro station or right in front of the Medici. Available Monday-Thursday 6:00pm-10:00pm.

how we spend our friday evenings...

7:45pm: Carlos rolls one of the FIDM dress-forms out of the 5th floor lab.

7:46pm: He gets on the elevator and reaches the 1st floor, but gets stopped in the Rotunda by one of the guards...

FIDM guard: Excuse me! Where do you think you're going with that?

Carlos: Uhh... I'm going to go drape in the park.

FIDM guard: I'm sorry, you can't do that. Please take the dress-form back upstairs.

Carlos: What?! But I want to finish my work at Grand Hope park!

FIDM guard: Seriously, you need to roll that back upstairs... I'm calling security.

Carlos: Um, I don't think so. I'm paying 32 grand to be here.... if I feel like draping outside, try to stop me.

Nothing gets us to the library sooner than an all-nighter of homework and sewing.

Yeah, we're pretty legit.

Why

The way to know how is to know why. The way to find enough motivation, inspiration, commitment and strength is to know why.
Why do you seek what you seek? Why do you desire to reach the goals you have set?
There is a purpose within you that will push you to overcome every obstacle. When you truly feel that your efforts are connected to that purpose, those efforts will surely bring the desired results.
It's easy to imitate the dreams and aspirations of those around you, and to think you want what they want. But remember that you have your very own, unique dreams, and those are the dreams to follow.
Instead of frustration, you can experience joy. Instead of disappointment, you can know fulfillment.
It all comes from truly knowing why. Allow yourself to understand why, and whatever you can imagine will be yours to create.
