Reading Is Sexy

Hi FIDM students!
I want to pass along a partnership opportunity with an organization called Traveling Stories, based in San Diego, CA. Traveling Stories is looking for organizations that would like to partner with them to hold a fundraising event. Below is an excerpt form their website that explains their purpose as well as the partnership opportunity:

Reading is Sexy is a brand that was created by Traveling Stories, a nonprofit organization dedicated to outsmarting poverty one book at a time.

In a culture that is so obsessed with physical attractiveness we wanted to stand up and defend the idea that being well-read is sexy. We want to redefine what it means to be sexy, and we agree with Ashton, "The sexiest thing in the entire world is being smart and thoughtful and generous."

Traveling Stories is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to outsmart poverty one book at a time. The organization strives to remove poverty from the world by beginning at the problem – lack of educational opportunities. That’s why Traveling Stories has already established seven international libraries since 2010, and continues to expand its reach. Traveling Stories is also dedicated to fighting illiteracy locally and provides free literacy coaching to more than 150 kids every Saturday in City Heights.

This is where you and your organization have the very special opportunity to not only spread true sexiness around your campus, but to also create a better tomorrow for many living in poverty.

We invite you to partner with us for a fundraiser where we will offer 25% back to your organization from your total Sexy Readers order amount. Check us out at www.sexyreaders.com or www.travelingstories.org to learn more about the charity and to get a look at our products. Also make sure to like our FB page at www.facebook.com/TravelingStories.

If you’re interested in partnering with us – then please get back to me before November 22, 2013 so we can discuss the next steps.

Looking forward to hearing back from you,

Isabel Smith
